Each Monday, your child will bring home a list of words that
should be practiced every night. These words should be practiced until he/she
can read the words fluently. On Wednesday or Thursday your child will be graded
on his/her reading. Remember the more they practice, the easier reading will be
for them.
Every Tuesday night is homework night. Your child will be asked to
return the homework on Wednesday with two pictures they have either drawn or
cut from a magazine that starts with the letter of the week. We will use these
pictures to build on the Letter of the Week.
There will be
a weekly folder sent home on Friday that contains your child’s work for the
week. There may also be school notes or book orders that will require you to
look over and sign. Also included in the
weekly folder (left side) will be a sheet for you to sign indicating that you
have seen the work along with a section for you to write your comments or ask
questions. Please be sure the folders
are returned Monday morning.
